2007 Norwalk Boat Show Activities

A beautiful four day weekend (well OK one afternoon of rain) and lots of attendees allowed Division 7 to serve the boating public. Staffing our booth daily from 1000 to 1800 from Thursday to Sunday we provided information about boating courses, Vessel Safety Checks, recruiting, the Academy, documentation of vessels and a myriad of other marine topics. It also allowed us to network with the Power Squadrons and the State of Connecticut Boating Safety.

Ralph Field and I, as Boat Show Co-Chairs, wish to thank all those who volunteered their time and effort to make this a success. First is our “set-up” crew of Jim Waddington, John Davis, who helped Ralph and me.

Next come thanks for the stalwarts who manned the booth: Jason Farrow, John Davis, Steve Biro, John Stefura, Howard Schleier, Art Gottlieb, Evan Tilley, Mustafa Noor, John Allen, Walt Roberts, Linda Lakin, Lori Rainaldi and Jason Wood.

Lastly and most importantly, thanks go to the “break down” crew who took down the display and passed it over the fence and back to 72 Base so we could get home: Joe Lovas, Carol Saar, Ed Sekelsky and Barry Wilde.
