CAPTAIN’S
CORNER
Another new
beginning! Evan Tilley and I are looking forward to serving
Division 7 and meeting our challenges
with our team, living the values of the Coast Guard
family, Honor, Respect and Devotion to
Duty. We
have already moved forward together by looking at
our accomplishments, our strengths and opportunities for
2007. As we prepare for PE classes, MDA, Operations or member training, our goal should also include support
of each member to foster growth and development
to be the best
Auxiliarists we can be. Whether it’s mentoring new members, or participating in boat shows, operations
or vessel exams, working as a team and get team you can count on in an emergency situation. Fellowship
is an important goal for Division 7. Remember to include other flotillas in your
training exercises. There is plenty of experience, skills and resources available to share in our division. It is always
okay to ask for help or offer assistance to another
flotilla. Remember
that we represent the Coast Guard to the boating public. Making yourself
approachable and accessible
to the public may just make your day, possibly
gain a new recruit or even save a life. Thank
you for everything you do. We look forward to a
safe year with
interesting opportunities, challenges and growth for all our members.
